Here's some advice we would like to share with you which we believe
will help reduce the serious risks associated with inadequate protection
of your loved ones and your property.
Doors & Locks: The majority of
burglaries occur through the property's entrance doors. Normal
construction of door locks are with hardware that is not strong
enough to withstand forceful entry. Where possible, use long
(at least 3 inches) screws for attaching the door latch to the
frame. The idea here is that the screws should actually pass
beyond the door frame and into the upright frame (stud) of the
building. This easy to apply precaution will significantly
increase the strength of your doorway and could be enough to
deter an exasperated burglar.
Lighting: Install extra lighting to the exterior of your property.
Burglars will target property that does not bring too much attention.
Additional lighting is a great way to make your property less tempting
to a criminal.
Although the information provided here is a useful tool for preventing
theft and injury, it is extremely important to combine these precautionary
measures with a state-of-the-art security system.
